Project Manager

Interpersonal Frequency LLC is a 15-year-old business whose purpose and passion is effective digital government for all. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Customer Activation Team, which handles the creation of new websites and digital experiences for I.F. clients. 

This position reports to the Director of Customer Activation. They work closely on a daily basis with UX professionals, developers, and other project managers/operations staff, as well as interfacing directly with clients. 

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of client projects. Effectively drive the completion of project work by making strategic decisions that align with project goals.  Manage resourcing and work items, keeping projects within scope, on time, and on budget. 

  • Create and execute effective project plans. Architect timelines and sprints, using Jira to plan/track/manage all project work. Implement and evolve our in-house best practices for structuring and managing projects. 

  • Drive our software development life cycle at the project level. Collaborate closely with technical leads and use your understanding of technical requirements to translate them into actionable development tasks. 

  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients engaged with I.F. for complex, large-scale web site development projects. This includes: scheduling of all I.F.-and-client meetings; active reporting on project status; responding promptly to client questions or concerns (with the support of UX and engineering subject-matter experts); and ensuring that client-side to-dos are clearly communicated and completed in a timely manner. 

  • Interpret technical requirements and coordinate information-sharing. Work closely with clients and our development team to get technical information required for specific functionality or integration. Clear understanding and interpretation of these needs is essential.

  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate project risks. Work with the Director of Customer Activation and project team members to proactively identify potential pitfalls and implement solutions.

  • Be accountable for project status. Provide regular internal reporting to the Director of Customer Activation, informing qualitative and quantitative measures, to inform decision making across the Customer Activation project portfolio.

  • Generate project team alignment. Coordinate the internal project team, aligning all team members around work priorities, timing, and the overall strategy to best serve the client’s needs within project scope. 

  • Balance competing demands. Collaborate with the Director of Customer Activation, the UX team, and the engineering team to optimize delivery, strategically balance competing work items and timelines. 

  • Manage to and report on the scope of work. Interpret the project scope to align all work being completed. Collaborate with Booked Sales to ensure alignment matches intentions and to help budget for current and future projects.

  • Respond to reported incidents when on-call. Follow the on-call support SOPs and playbooks.

Candidate Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in managing web development projects.

  • Ability to read, understand, and analyze project documentation and SOWs.

  • Strong capability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into actionable work.

  • Proven experience managing lengthy, complex projects that have been completed on time and on budget. 

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects at one time.

  • Experience communicating directly with clients on a regular basis to capture project requirements and relay project status. 

  • Extensive experience using Jira for project management and reporting.

  • Adaptability to changing conditions and opportunities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical project stakeholders; includes cross-department collaboration.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the U.S.

  • Demonstrated commitment to I.F.'s Purpose and Principles based on your employment history and interview(s).

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • PMP certification or PMP training 

  • Experience using Tempo and its reporting tools along with Jira 

  • Experience managing both monolithic and decoupled Drupal website development projects

Performance Metrics

  • Project Scheduling & Completion: You’ll set and drive project schedules with a focus on forecast accuracy—project completion should not deviate more than 10% from the original estimated timeline. This enables predictable revenue recognition across the life of the project.

  • On-Time Delivery: At least 90% of billable project milestones within our control are completed on schedule, supporting timely invoicing and consistent progress.

  • Productivity: You’ll close over 80% of the tickets in each sprint on time, helping maintain delivery momentum. 

  • Client Satisfaction: You’ll support strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsiveness, with an average CSAT score of 7 or higher throughout the project lifecycle
