With over 60 agency sub-sites, Baltimore’s websites were difficult to navigate. In order to overhaul their traffic-heavy web presence, I.F. turned to our data-driven process for a better understanding of Baltimore’s residents and their needs.
Through I.F.’s Voice of Citizen® data collection, we learned that a large number of users could not accomplish what they intended to do on the site, including 25 percent who wanted to make a payment. We created a new, citizen-centric information architecture, responsive UX design, and a sophisticated search system that searches the content of third-party sites and allows users to filter their results.
We also transferred the city’s websites to Fulcrum, our enterprise Drupal hosting environment running public cloud servers, for enhanced security and providing a one-stop shop for ongoing maintenance.
